This week in AP Calculus, we started working on our Why Am I Here? Project, and we also had some experience looking at how the places we visited affected our lives. For the Why Am I Here? Project, we chose the book Siddhartha. So far, the book seems interesting enough, but I'm still only a quarter of the way into it. As a group, we were supposed to take pictures of noteworthy quotes from the books and upload them to a document to prevent breaking the flow of reading, but for me, it's hard enough remembering to take notes while reading, so taking time to take a picture of the quote would probably break the flow of my reading anyway.
Other than the early workings of the project, we looked at how places affect our lives. In my case, I feel that the amount of places I've been, or amount of experiences I've had in those places doesn't affect my life, but rather it's how little places and experiences I've seen and had that did. I haven't been out of the country (other than to Canada, but does that really count?), and the furthest I've gone out of state is to Florida. I think it's because of the small amount of experiences I've had in new or unique places that I come to appreciate places like home a lot more. Even though the events that happen everyday at home don't really make for a very exciting and unique experience, I think it's those experiences that shaped my life the most.
